Kinder- Funeral service for Mr. Horace Williams, 71, will be held Friday, May 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in First Baptist Church of Kinder. Brother Mike Paxton will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Luke Cemetery in Kinder under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be Thursday in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder Friday from 5pm-10pm and will continue Friday at 8am until time of service.
Mr. Williams was a resident of Kinder and a member of First Baptist Church of Kinder. He served his country in the Army for 3 years and was retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service. He was also retired from the Federal Government after 10 years of service and served on the Coushatta Tribal Council for 7 years. He enjoyed playing golf in his retirement years. Mr. Williams passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in a New Orleans Hospital.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Norma Williams of Kinder; daughter, Leslie Williams of Biloxi, MS; two brothers, Clifford Poncho of Kinder & Cleveland Poncho of Cherokee, North Carolina; three sisters, Pauline John of Elton, Shirley Doucet of Jennings, and Brenda Hill of Orange, TX; numerous nieces & nephews.
Preceded in death by his mother, Jane Poncho; brother, D.R. Poncho; sisters, Neva Manuel & Yvonne Slappy.
