Elton-Funeral services for Hilda Lavergne, age 77, will be held on
Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 11 am in St. Paul Catholic Church.
Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery in Kinder under the direction
of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will begin in St. Paul Catholic Church on Saturday,
February 5, 2011 at 8am until time of service.
Hilda was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elton.
She cooked for the elderly at the Community Center of Elton. She
would make beads and give to family and friends. She enjoyed
shopping at garage sales for antiques. She was a devoted wife of
over 62 years and dearly loved her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons; Edward Lavergne and wife Mary
of Elton, Wilfred Lavergne and wife Paulette of Houston, TX., Gistar
Lavergne and wife Annie of Basile, La., Paul Lavergne of Elton, and
Johnny Lavergne and wife Thelma of Oberlin; daughters, Evelyn
Henry and husband Howard of Elton, Patricia Prudhomme and
Husband Willis of Kinder; one brother Joseph Deville and wife
Maple of Kinder; and 21 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gistar "Slim" Lavergne;
And parents, Francis and Thomas Deville; and son Joseph Lavergne.
