Hilda was born in Iota, Louisiana, but was raised in Eunice. She was a direct descendant of the first Miller, Jacob Miller, whom settled in Louisiana in the 1600's. Hilda spent much of her married life in Lake Charles where she raised her family. She was a loving wife and mother and a caring friend to all. She was a great cook and always had a cake made for every special occasion, which she delivered with her lovely smile. She will be missed by all who loved her including her "Baby Zoe", the family dog, who was by her side until she left this world.
Hilda leaves to honor her memory her daughter, Hazel Sonnier and husband, Keith of Lake Charles; her son, John Fontenot and wife, Renee of Ville Platte; two sisters, Edna
Shuff of Elton and Euna Wooten of Lake Charles; one sister-in-law, Rose Miller of Eunice; 8 grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lucette and Leo Miller; her
husband, Willis Fontenot; two brothers, Leonard Miller and Howard Miller; and one sister, Helen Johnson.
