Kinder-Funeral service for Helen Pender Gilley, age 78, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 in the chapel of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Bro. Glen Cooley will officiate. Burial will follow in LeBlanc Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors from 4-10 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2016 at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Helen was a lifelong resident of LeBlanc, Louisiana and was retired U.S. Postmaster of LeBlanc. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for her family and friends. She was a lifelong member of the Pentecostal faith and attended New Life Pentecostal Church of Ragley. Helen's love for her family will be cherished by them forever.
Those left to mourn her loss include her husband, Gene Gilley, of LeBlanc; one son, Stephen E. Gilley and wife, Annette, of Syracuse, UT; one daughter, Christina Myrick of Lake Charles; one brother, Donald Pender and wife, Blanche, of Oakdale; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, E.C. and Marie Pender; four brothers, John Earl, Paul, Jack, and Ray Pender; and one sister, Laura Lee Johnson.
