Dry Creek-Funeral service for Helen Marie Fontenot Aust, 76, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Dry Creek Bible Church. Rev. Don Barrett will officiate. All arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Dry Creek Bible Church from 4-9 p.m. Visitation will resume at the church on Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Helen was a loving wife, mother, and sister. She was devoted to her husband, Walter, for 52 years. She was a strong believer in her Christian faith. She enjoyed picking blackberries to share with her family and growing flowers and potted plants-her favorites being ivy and verbena. She loved working in her yard and cooking "home-cooked" meals for her family. Helen never met a stranger. She enjoyed visiting with the ladies as St. Vincent's Closet and with her friends in what she called "front-porch visiting". Helen will be greatly missed and always remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Helen's memory include her husband, Walter Aust, of Reeves; her daughter, Suzanne Aust, of Reeves; and her sister, Aline Fontenot Marcantel, of Oberlin.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Comlouis and Evelyn Fontenot; her brothers, Jim and Joe Fontenot; and sisters, Mary F. Pate and Evelena F. Stretton.
