Elton-Helen Louise Allen, 71, died Monday, October 30, 2017, in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2017, at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Jose Vattakunnel will officiate. Burial will follow in China Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Helen was a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Elton. She retired from Jeff Davis Parish School Board after having taught thirty-one years. Helen will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Helen's memory include her two sisters, Ann Magee of Eunice and Marie Hebert of Baton Rouge; one brother, Earl (Gene) Allen of Houston; several nieces and nephews; and all the hundreds of children she taught through the years who meant so much to her.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Earl Allen, Sr. and Louise Allen Williams.
