Kinder-Memorial services honoring Heather Gean Adams Burks, 44, will be held at 12 o’clock noon on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder. Heather’s family will host private inurnment services in her memory at a future date.

Heather’s family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral home of Kinder on Sunday morning, January 25, 2026, from 11 o’clock a.m. until time of service followed by a fellowship luncheon at the Ardoin Memorial Banquet Hall.

Our sweet Heather Gean Adams Burks, 44, passed away peacefully at her home in Shreveport, Louisiana on Wednesday, January 07, 2026. Heather was born on April 15, 1981, and grew up in Ragley, Louisiana. She graduated from South Beauregard High School with the class of 1999. Heather cherished her family and treasured time spent visiting and catching up over home-cooked meals. One of her greatest joys was gathering with loved ones, especially when her brother was barbecuing moments filled with laughter, good food, and togetherness that she deeply loved. She was cherished as a loving wife, sister, aunt, and a mother figure to countless other children whom she held dear to her heart. Heather’s genuine smile will never be forgotten.

Those left to cherish Heather’s memory include her husband, Nick Burks; one brother, Charles McKinney; her uncle, Bobby Kibodeaux, and wife Karen; three nieces, Scarlette (who she raised as her daughter) Kayllista and Isabella; two nephews, Trestien and L’Kendric; and finally, her great niece Chloe.

Heather is preceded in death by her mother, Jacqueline Adams Kibodeaux; two aunts, Linda Faye Kibodeaux Bain, and Gloria Gean “Scooter” Kibodeaux; her grandparents Emma Gean McKinney and Charles Maurice McKinney; and her grandfather, Horace Robert Kibodeaux.
