Granny Hazel was a lifelong resident of Elton. She was an active member of First
Baptist Church of Elton and enjoyed being involved with the First Baptist
Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed going from one novel to another.
She also read two or three different novels at the same time. She enjoyed fellowship
with family and friends and spending time with her pet, "Taco".
Granny Hazel passed away due to complications to hip replacement surgery. She
was not only a mother, good friend, neighbor, sounding board, a grandmother,
a great grandmother, a wonderful mother-in-law, and also the receptionist and
co-worker at KENJABRUCH. She will be greatly missed by all employees in
the store, especially when the phones begin to ring on Monday morning. She
enjoyed her new home out on the farm but nothing can compare to her new home
in heaven.. She loved the Lord and is having a great reunion with him in heaven.
Hazel is survived by her son, Kenneth James Bruchhaus and wife, "Shirley" of
Elton; two brothers, Shirley LaFosse and wife, Rose of Elton and Gene LaFosse
and wife, Sally of Bluegrass, Iowa; one sister, Patricia Ryder and husband, James of Lake
Charles; four grandchildren Kimberly Landry, Kathy Hayes, Kenny Bruchhaus and Dustin Daigle; and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Avan "AJ" LaFosse and Anna Bertrand;
her first husband, Earl Bruchhaus; her second husband, James MCClelland; two
daughters, Earlene Kay Bruchhaus and Janet Sue Daigle; her in-laws, Robert
and Pearl Bruchhaus; and three grandchildren, Robert, Barry, and Krystal.
