Funeral service for Hazel Martin Boulden, 90, will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Jose Vattekunnel will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton.
The family will receive visitors at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday at 9 a.m. until time of service with a Holy Rosary beginning at 10 a.m.
Hazel was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved to cook and was a very good cook. She made the best sweet potatoes and lemon meringue pie. She enjoyed working with her flowers and everyone knew not to park on her grass. She loved to kill armadillos in her yard. She was a woman of strong faith and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elton her whole life. Hazel was a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She had a servant's heart and would help anyone. Hazel enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Steven Boulden and wife, Linda, of Kinder; two daughters, Hazel Renthrope and husband, Elroy, and Linda Boulden both of Kinder; two sisters, Bettie Sheffield and husband, Eddie, of Forest Hill, TX, and Mary Lou Guilbeau of St. Louis, MO; and 4 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Burnadette Martin; her ex-husband, Joe Boulden; son, Larry Charles Martin; three brothers, Louis Parkerson, Gilbert Martin, Jr., and John Martin, Sr.; and four sisters, Eva Jones, Odessa Martin, Ethel Mae Griffin, and Cleana Miller.
