Obituary

Fenton-Funeral service for Harrell Roosevelt Howard, 77, will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 2pm at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church of Fenton. Fr. Roland Vaughn will officiate the service and burial will follow in Lebleu Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder beginning Monday, October 29, 2012 from 3-10pm, with a 7pm Vigil Service and Rosary. The visitation will continue on Tuesday morning from 8am until time of service.
Harrell was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus member as well as attended Cursillo Retreat #99. He served our country as a member of the United States National Guard from 1953-1957and, then served in the United States Navy from 1957-1961. He worked for many years in the commercial construction industry and retired from Painter Local #1244. Harrell was also a member of the Fire Board #5. He enjoyed woodworking and was a dedicated football and baseball fan, especially enjoying the Little League World Series each season. Harrell was also an avid hunter. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather whose memories will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Jane Romero Howard; five sons-Bill (June) Howard, Bobby (Dan) Howard, Tony (Stacy) Howard, Tim (Tracy) Howard, and Richard (Kristi) Howard; eleven grandchildren- Nikki and spouse, Jon Vail, Kylie, Zak, Garrett, Kaitlyn, Kinnley and spouse, Karlee, Emily, Cody and Madalyn Howard, Daniel McGary, and Reaghan Fox; two great grandchildren-Brayden Vail and Kristen Howard; one sister, Brenda Lege'; his god child, Debbie Cuellar; and his beloved pet, Cookie.
Harrell is preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt (Rouge) and Alma Cormier Howard; and, three brothers-T.J., Nick, and James Brent (J.B.)
Pallbearers for the funeral service will include Kinnley, Zak, and Garrett Howard, Daniel McGary, Brandon Fontenot, and Todd Hawthorne. Honorary pallbearer will be Cody Howard.
The family would like to thank the Harbor Hospice staff as well as a special thanks to his nurse, Ginger.
