Gusex Christopher Gradney was a devoted hardworking husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was married to his wife, Marie, for 46 years in which they lived a beautiful life. Gus or Gusey, as he was known by most, left this world behind to join his wife in his heavenly home on April 22, 2022. He wore many hats and wore them well; he enjoyed spending time with his family, but especially loved spending time with his youngest granddaughter and his great granddaughter. In his younger days, if he was not working or at a sports event for one of his grandkids; yelling at umpires or referees, he enjoyed being outdoors with his cattle. He raised cattle until the day he returned home and taught valuable lessons to his grandson and nephews. He loved providing for his family, from his day job to his cattle, to his lawn service; he spoiled his wife, daughter, and grandkids. After retirement, he loved spending time visiting family and friends. He could laugh and joke for hours. Gus' humor, which was a special kind, his presence and his love will be remembered and cherished forever.

Those left to cherish Gus' memory include his son, Scotty Artis and wife, Vondlyn, of Oberlin; daughter, Schelita Gradney of Lake Charles; sister-in-law, Enolia Hoosain and husband, Alli, of Oberlin; brother, JD Gradney and wife, Donita, of Kinder; sister, Shirley Simon and husband, Curtis, of Beaumont, TX; four grandchildren, Dominique Wilson and husband, Trevion, Morgan, Cameron and Kennedi Gradney; one great granddaughter, Chloe Wilson; one goddaughter, Princess "Meka" Leger and husband, Victor; a special niece held dear to his heart, Jennifer Gradney and daughters Brandi and Jessica Victorian; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Gus is preceded in death by his parents, Columbus and Beatrice Gradney; wife, Evelyn "Marie" Gradney; three brothers, Benjamin, Curley and Early Gradney; and sister, Colonia Gobert.
