Oakdale-Gregory L. Dyer, 66, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020, in his residence.  Greg was the only son born to Leo and Frances Dyer on December 14, 1953.   A Memorial Service will be held at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home, 311 Highway 1152, Oakdale on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 from 5-7 p.m.  Rev. Jerry Johnson will officiate.  All arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

After leaving the United States Army in 1973, Greg worked at and eventually operated Leo Dyer's Welding and Salvage.  When the salvage yard closed, he began driving trucks cross-country.   He later switched to driving for logging companies including Durand, Bear Cat Logging, and Terry Wheat, to be closer to his home.  He retired in 2012.  Greg will be missed by all who knew him, especially friends who checked on him regularly.

Surviving family members are his daughter, Kelli Dyer Davis, of Elizabeth; his son, Curtis (Alicia) Dyer, of Kinder; two sisters, Linda (Tommy) Burns, of Glenmora, and Debbie (Harlyn) Fontenot, of Oakdale; seven grandchildren; two nieces; one nephew; and a host of friends.
