Elton-Funeral service will be held for Grady J. Fontenot, 94, at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 6, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church of Elton. Rev. Jose Vattakunnel will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at St. Paul Catholic Church on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service.
Grady was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He was a stern father, but had a big heart. He was a hard-working man, as well. He served our country for 9 years in the United States Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching "Westerns" while smoking his cigar. Grady will be missed by all of his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Ronald Fontenot and wife, Mary, of Sulphur; his daughter, Charlotte Duplechain, of Jennings; one brother, Berlin Fontenot and wife, Sue, of Pineville; seven grandchildren; and, three great grandchildren.
Grady was preceded in death by his parents, Erise and Alida Fontenot; his wife, Eugenia Fontenot; one daughter, Judy Landry; three brothers, Ray, Wendell and Harlin Fontenot; and one sister, Marjorie Green.
