Oakdale-Funeral services for Gloria Jean Coleman, 74, will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Michael McIntosh will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
The family will recieve visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 10 a.m. until time of service. ***The family requests that masks be worn for both visitation and funeral services.***
Gloria, better known as Jean, was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she was loved by all. She enjoyed fishing, especially at her home on Bundicks Lake. She loved playing BINGO with her friends and was an avid cook. Even more so, she loved sharing her food with family and friends. She married the love of her life, Jerone, fifty-six years ago, will be fifty-seven years on August 22, 2021. Though we will miss her terribly, we look forward to honoring her memory by loving others like she loved us.
Those left to cherish Jean's memory include her husband, Jerone Coleman; one daughter, Tiffany Murry and husband, Jim; one sister, Ruth Burrows; five grandchildren, Allye Lacombe, Taylor Lacombe, Jeremy Murry, Katie Guillory and Lisa Willis; ten great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Herschel and Nell Bickham; one brother, Johnny Melvin; and three sisters, Sally Hoffpauir, Elizabeth Chesson and Anita.
