Reeves-Mrs. Glenda Nixon Hill, age 67, passed away April 2, 2010, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Glenda was born on January 4, 1943. She graduated from Reeves High School and attended McNeese University. She retired from PPG Industries of Lake Charles, after 27 years of service, where she had many friends.
Her greatest enjoyment came from flower gardening and spending time with her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her father, Thomas T. Nixon.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Jimmy Hill of Reeves; her mother, Stella Nixon of Reeves; one daughter, Lisa Powell and husband, Bill of Jacksonville, Florida; two sons, Michael Parker and wife, Cindy of Urania and Charles "Corky" Parker and wife, Jennifer of Monroe; one stepdaughter, Donna Perry and husband, William of Nacogdoches, Texas; one stepson, Mike Hill of Lufkin, Texas; two sisters, Joyce Hollis of Lake Charles and Diane Kountz and husband, Bryant of Lafayette; one brother, Dale Nixon and wife, Yvonne of Reeves; 12 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation with family and friends will be held Monday, April 5, 2010 from 5pm-9pm in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder, Louisiana. Visitation will continue Tuesday, April 6, 2010 in Reeves Bible Church from 10am until time of service. The service will be held at 2pm Tuesday in Reeves Bible Church. Burial will follow in Lyles Cemetery of Reeves under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
