Obituary

Home going services for Gladys M. Fontenot, 85, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2016 at Kingsfarm United Pentecostal Church. Rev. A.A. Haymon and Rev. Steve Haymon will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors at Kingsfarm United Pentecostal Church on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service.
Gladys was a loving mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. She was a lifelong resident of Kinder. She was a member of Kingsfarm UPC and was known as a woman of "strong faith." She enjoyed shopping, quilting, and spending time with her family. She also collected dolls. She worked at Allen Parish Hospital for five years as a C.N.A. Gladys was a caring and loving person who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Those left to cherish Gladys' memory include two sons, Glynn Richard and wife, Lisa, of Hollis, OK, and Terry Richard and wife, Dianne, of Kinder; one daughter, Barbara Morgan, of Kinder; one brother, Ercel Fontenot of Kinder; three sisters, Wilona Henry of Lake Charles, Sharon Miller and husband, Roosevelt, and Nadine Coward and husband, Arthur, all of Kinder; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Gladys is preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Lena Fontenot; her husband, Andrew Richard; one daughter, Debbie Sonnier; two brothers, Alveno and Phil Fontenot; and three sisters, Annette Fontenot, Elva McMahan, and Iona Buller.
