Oberlin- Funeral service for Mr. Gerald D. Bourg, 84, will be held Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 10 a.m. in New Beginning Assembly of God Church in Oberlin. Bro. Shane Nugent will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and continue on Thursday at 8 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in Hampton Memorial Cemetery in Elizabeth under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Mr. Bourg was a native of Oberlin. He died Tuesday, February 27, 2007 in Oakdale. He was a retired Merchant Marine.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Zoe P. Bourg of Oberlin; three sons, Gerald D. Bourg, Jr. of Lafayette, Joseph W. Bourg of Elizabeth, and David E. Bourg of Lafayette; one daughter, Ms. Martha Bourg of Oberlin, one sister, Mrs. Joel "Dorothy" Lejeune of Pine Prairie, 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Michael Bourg.
