Kinder-A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Georgette Cook Bailey, 90, at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2016 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Rev. Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from 3-9 p.m. A vigil service will be held at 6 p.m. followed by the Holy Rosary. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Georgette was a lifelong resident of Kinder. She was a loving wife of 53 years to her husband, Frank, prior to his passing in 2013. She dearly loved her nieces and nephews-Joe, Tony, Maria, Beth, Jossette, Louie, Dave, Cecil, Robert and Cathy. She was a woman of strong faith and a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Daughters. She loved to cook Lebanese food and was very proud of her heritage. Georgette also enjoyed crocheting, going to the casino, and a "good game" of bourre'. Georgette's memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews and their families which include a host of great nieces and nephews.
Georgette is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Alida Cook; her husband, Frank; four brothers, Lewis, Fred, George and Anthony Cook; one sister, Idel Cook; and two sister-in-laws, Georgia and Josie Cook.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Brighton Bridge Hospice and Dr. Peggy Allemand and Staff for the outstanding care given to their aunt.
