Kinder-George Rhett Wofford, age 71, passed away at his home on Saturday evening, June 15, 2013 surrounded by his family. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 10 am at Indian Village Pentecostal Church. Rev. Terry Bushnell and Rev. T.L. Smith will officiate the service and burial will follow in Indian Village Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, June 17, 2013 from 5-9 pm at Indian Village Pentecostal Church. Visitation will continue at the church the following morning from 8 am until time of service.
Rhett was a lifelong resident of Kinder. He was the owner and operator of Wofford Trucking. He enjoyed hunting and watching football. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and also had a special place in his heart for his two nieces, Tara Carlisle and Candice Chaumont. His memory will be cherished by his family and friends.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 49 years, Gail Savant Wofford of Kinder; one son, Leo Kevin Wofford and wife, Delaine of St. Francisville; one brother, Leo Brent Wofford and wife, Jana of Kinder; and two grandchildren, Harrison and Haleigh.
Rhett is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lillie and Willie Cleveland; his paternal grandparents, Emma and Clarence Wofford; and his parents, Lucy and Leo Wofford.
