Mr. George Edward Lawrence

Oberlin- Mr. George Edward Lawrence, 78, went to meet his Savior on November 6, 2009. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 9, 2009 at 10 A.M., in Green Oak Bible Church. Pastor Jerry Long will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Sunday November 8, 2009 in Green Oak Bible Church from 3 to 10 P.M. and will continue on Monday from 8 A.M. till time of service.

Mr. Lawrence was born June 9, 1931 in Welsh, LA. He was a resident of Oberlin, where he was employed by CenturyTel for over 30 years. He loved the Lord and was a member of Green Oak Bible Church.

Mr. Lawrence is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mrs. Virginia Lawrence; three daughters; Mrs. Christine Edmonds and husband Ralph of Chicago, IL, Mrs. Karen Marcantel, and husband Julian of Oberlin, and Dr. Vicki Wolfe and husband Derick of Birmingham, AL; one sister, Inez Lawrence Fruge of Kinder; one brother, Jacob "Jake" Lawrence of Kinder. He loved his 7 grandchildren, and adored his only great granddaughter, Addison Melendy. He is preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Lawrence and one brother, Robert Lawrence.
