Hineston-It is with heavy hearts that the family of George Davis, 68, announce his passing from this life on January 14, 2015 in LeBlanc. Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Beechwood Pentecostal Church in Hineston. Officiates will be Rev. Carl Hardin, Rev. P.K. Knab, and Rev. Jimmy White. Burial will follow in Elisha Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Allen Parish Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Beechwood Pentecostal Church on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 3-9 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
George was a lifelong resident of Hineston. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Lana, for 47 years. George was also a loving father and grandfather. There is absolutely nothing that he would not have done for others. George worked hard to provide for his family. His work was his passion. He also enjoyed to hunt and fish, and dig for arrow heads. George will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Lana Davis of Hineston; one son, Michael Davis and wife, Sheila, of Hineston; two daughters, Melony Knab and husband, P.K., and Rita Cole and husband, Parker, all of Denham Springs; two brothers, Enzley Davis and wife, Ila, and Joe Davis, all of Hineston; one sister, Faye Busey and husband, Russell, of Hineston; 10 grandchildren-Candice Helg, Patricia West, Gabrielle Droddy, Emily Sanchez, Ashley Davis, Garrett Davis, Trystan Pope, Trevor Cole, Ohlyvia Knab, and Cody Davis; 4 great grandchildren-Noah, Lily, Wyatt, and William; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
George is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Celestine Davis; and two sisters, Lynn King and Gertrude Hebert.
