Kinder-Funeral services for Gentry Joseph Wheaton, 54, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. John Cernick will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Leo the Great Catholic Cemetery in Leonville, LA, under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder on Friday, September 2, 2016, from 4-9 p.m. A singing service will begin at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Gentry was a loving father and grandfather. He worked hard to provide for his family and enjoyed spending time at home. He loved old rock-n-roll music. He was a hero to his children and their best friend. Gentry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Gentry's memory include his son, Marc Cortez of Livingston, TX; three daughters, Jamie Cortez, Cynthia Wheaton, and Ashlee Wheaton all of Abilene, TX; two sisters, Cynthia McCahill and husband, Bill, of Houston, TX, and Lucinda Sitiran of Cypress, TX; one aunt, Audrey Marks and husband, Michael, of Leonville, LA; and seven grandchildren.
Gentry is preceded in death by his parents, Gentry and Ida Wheaton Noack.
