Obituary

Turkey Creek- Funeral service for Genevie K. Causey, 88, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at First United Pentecostal Church of Turkey Creek. Rev. Wainwright and Rev. Terry Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Turkey Creek Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, from 2-9 p.m.at First United Pentecostal Church of Turkey Creek and will resume at the church on Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Genevie King Causey was born on March 31, 1935, in the small village of Lake Cove. In her early years, she quickly became the homemaker she so beautifully perfected throughout her life. At the age of 15, she began her new journey as a wife to J.A. Causey and she blessed everyone's life as a mother of 12. Her greatest joy and proudest accomplishments in life where her children and grandchildren whom she absolutely loved and adored. Mrs. Causey was a dedicated member of Turkey Creek United Pentecostal Church for over 50 years. As a true servant of the Lord, she participated as a worship leader and Sunday School teacher. She loved to share the love of Jesus and His word through scripture and her actions, while always reflected in the smile on her face. Her greatest enjoyment came from singing praises, reading her Bible, and listening to her children play music. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include five sons, Michael Causey and wife, Brooke of Turkey Creek, Timothy Causey and wife, Melissa of Turkey Creek, Jonathan Causey and wife, Callie of Forest Hill, Daniel Causey of Forest Hill, and Stanford Causey of Newton, TX; four daughters, Marilyn Causey Almond and husband, Robert of Turkey Creek, La, Ann Hebert and David Edwards of Pine Prairie, Kay Rhame and husband, Rusty of Shreveport, Connie Ducote and husband, Benny of Clearwater; daughter-in-law, Shirley Causey of Glenmora; one sister, Audrey King of Lake Cove; 38 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Genevie is preceded in death by her spouse, James A. Causey; 3 sons, Darrell R. Causey, Rodney L. Causey, and an infant son; her parents, Albert Ross and Blanche King; 4 brothers, Pearl King, Leon King, Merdia Clark, and Melvin Clark; 3 sisters, Mary Johnson, Elsie King, and Lucille Droddy; and one grandson, Jared Hebert.
