Funeral service for Gene Crabtree, 59, will be held at 12 noon on Monday, March 13, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Pine Prairie.  Rev. Kevin West will officiate.  All arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at First Baptist Church of Pine Prairie on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Gene, affectionately known as "Gunny", was a loving father and grandfather who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He was a 1981graduate of Pine Prairie High School before enlisting and serving our country in the United States Marine Corps for 20 years as a gunnery sergeant.  While enlisted, he was able to travel the world including the Philippines, Okinawa, Japan, and many states here in the United States.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Gene's memory include his children, Tiana Purdy and Raymond Lozeau; three grandchildren; and four brothers, Johnny Crabtree and wife, Carrie, Jimmy Crabtree and wife, Tammy, Kenneth Hebert and wife, Donna, and James Hebert and wife, Samantha.

Gene is preceded in death by his father, Willard Crabtree; and his mother and stepfather, Shirley and Kenneth Hebert.
