Gayla Causey

Oakdale-Funeral service for Gayla Causey, 63, will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.   Rev. Greg Willis will officiate.  Gayla will be peacefully laid to rest at Cryer Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 3-9 p.m. at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Visitation will resume on Friday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Gayla was a native of Beaver Creek and resided in Oakdale. She was Baptist by faith and a faithful member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish Gayla's memory include her devoted son, Dustin Causey and wife, Amy; her two daughters, Pam and Jessica Causey; her two grandchildren, Harlo Causey and Bryce Mouton; and six sisters, Diane Willis and husband, Donnie, Donna Chapman and husband, David, Sandra Sanderson and husband, Bruce, Lana Willis and husband, Ervin, Dana Stockman and husband, Coley and Melissa Strother and husband, Warren; one brother, Mike Melder and wife, Dana.

Gayla is preceded in death by her parents, Landus "Tinker" and Lola Melder; and one nephew, Chad Ardoin.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Chase Myers, Earl Holmes, Ben Reed, J.T. Willis and Dakota Chapman and Randall Woodham.
