Fenton- Funeral mass for Mr. Gaston Guidry Jr., 76, will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Father Augustin Mulanjany will officiate. Burial will follow in Lebleu Cemetery in Fenton under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder Monday from 3p.m.-9p.m. with a scripture service at 6:00 p.m. and will continue Monday at 8a.m. until time of service.
Mr. Guidry was a native of Rayne and lived most of his life in Fenton. He was a butcher for Cash and Carry Grocery Store in Kinder for 36 years and Kinder Supermarket for 15 years. He loved being Cajun, so cooking for people, cajun music, raising pigs and hogs was great enjoyment in his life. He was the "Craklin King". He also enjoyed playing in pool tournaments, which he won many, and playing cards. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather that loved life and never met a stranger. Mr. Guidry passed away, Sunday, March 23, 2008 in a Jennings care center.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Wanda Guidry of Fenton; three sons, Bernie Lemieaux of Lake Charles, Phil Lemieux of Lacassine, Gary Guidry of Welsh; three daughters, Denise Langley of Jasper, TX, Linda LaFleur of Welsh, and Janice Gary of Welsh; two brothers, Shirley Guidry of Lake Arthur & Harry Guidry of San Antonio, TX; 23 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren.
