Oakdale-Celebration of Life services honoring Garrah Theresa Halford Peters, 75, will be held at 2 o'clock p.m. on Saturday afternoon, November 8, 2025, at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Bro. Greg Willis will officiate. Garrah will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery in Glenmora immediately following her services.

Garrah's family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale on Saturday morning, November 8, 2025, from 10 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Garrah's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Garrah Peters born April 30, 1950, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Garrah passed away peacefully at the age of 75 surrounded by her family on November 6, 2025. She was a beautiful example of love, strength, and devotion. Garrah was married for 51 wonderful years to her husband and best friend, Charles Peters. Together they built a loving home filled with laughter, faith, and family. She was a proud mother to her four children, Monique, Ginger, Clifton, and the late Joshua Halford, who will forever cherish her guidance, humor, and unconditional love. Garrah found joy in the simple things of life, working in her yard, tending to her flowers, and spending time with those she loved the most. She also found great purpose in her work serving many years in the administration department of Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana where she was known for her kindness, dedication, and compassion. Her greatest delight was being "Gam" to her five grandchildren Aaron, Alex, Kaycee, Weston, and the late Matthew Dousay and six great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. "Gam" never missed a chance to share a hug, a smile, or a home-cooked meal. Garrah's kindness, steady spirit, and love for her family will continue to bloom in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

Those left to cherish Garrah's memory include her husband, Charles Peters of Cypress Creek, LA; one son, Clifton Peters of Pine Prairie, LA, two daughters, Monique Clark and husband Kevin of Lampe, MO, and Ginger Dousay and husband Bobby "Bubba" of Forest Hill, LA; four grandchildren Aaron Johnson and wife Meghan, Alex Johnson and wife Emma, Kaycee Grantham and husband Morgan, and Weston Dousay, six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Garrah is preceded in death by her son Joshua Halford, her parents Harry and Ruby Halford, three brothers, Derrill, Ronald and Adrel Halford, and one grandson Matthew Dousay.
