Obituary

Oberlin-Funeral service for Freddy Ray Gorman, 69, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Rev. Keith Pellerin and Rev. Albert Borel will officiate. Burial will follow in Hampton Cemetery in Elizabeth under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin from 3-9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 with a word service at 6:30 p.m. and the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Freddy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Becky, for forty-six years. He was very proud of his Catholic heritage and enjoyed teaching CCD at his church. Freddy was a previous member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. He always put others before his self. Freddy enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, growing vegetables, and anything to do with the outdoors. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Freddy's memory include his wife, Becky Fontenot Gorman of Grant; three sons, Teddy Gorman of Lake Charles, Toby Gorman of Lake Charles, and Tracy Gorman of Grant; one daughter, Tina Gorman of Williamsburg, VA; two brothers, Charles Gorman and wife, Pat, of Lake Charles, Eddy Gorman and wife, Glenda, of Jefferson, TX; four sisters, Linda Spicer of Franklin, TN, Glenda Sanders and husband, Mark, of Tracy City, TN, Kathy Wimberly and husband, Bill, of Daytona Beach, FL, Kathalene Sanders and husband, Obedia, of Tracy City, TN; and five grandchildren.

Freddy is preceded in death by his parents, John and Georgie Gorman; one brother, Larry Gorman; and one sister, Brenda Priest.
