Obituary

Oberlin-A Mass of Christian Burial for Frank L. Mougeot, Jr., 81, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2018 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Rev. Jacob Conner will officiate. Burial will follow in Oberlin Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018, with the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home Friday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Bernadette, for 57 years. He loved to fish, garden, and was well known for his barbeque. He worked for six years at Crown Zellarbach Paper Company. In 1966, he began working with LSU Agriculture Center as a 4-H agent. In 1975, he became the Allen Parish County Agent and Parish Chairman. Frank worked with LSU for 40 years until his retirement in 2000. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He served our country in the Army National Guard, as a staff sergeant, during the Berlin Crisis. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Frank's memory include his wife, Bernadette Aguillard Mougeot, of Oberlin; one son, Frank Mougeot III and wife, Sharon, of Kinder; three daughters, Melinda Kent and husband, Jimmy, of Denham Springs, Melissa Craft and husband, Jeff, and Michele Mougeot, both of Kinder; two brothers, Victor Mougeot and Paul Mougeot, both of New Roads; four sisters, Theresa Mohr and husband, Bill, of Simi Valley, CA, Katherine Cline and husband, Lestor, Debbie Landry and husband, Eldon, both of Ventress, and Tammie Mougeot of Springfield, LA.;11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Marie Mougeot; one infant son; two infant granddaughters; and brother, Daniel Mougeot.
