Kinder-Funeral service for Floyd L. Sheridan, Sr, 90, will be held at 11a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2022 in the chapel of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home.  Rev. Bob Johnson will officiate.  Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder beginning Monday, November 14, 2022 from 2p.m.-9p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 8a.m. until time of service.

Floyd, affectionately known as "Pop", was a loving husband for many years before the passing of his wife, Betty.  He proudly served our country for 8 years in the United States Air Force and Army.  Floyd provided for his family over the years working hard in the rice and bean farming industry.  He was also retired from the Jeff Davis Police Jury.  He enjoyed playing the accordian, Cajun music and dancing.  His passions included fishing, hunting and camping. Floyd was known for making "hoop nets", homemade sausage, hog head cheese, and boudin.  He enjoyed growing a garden every year, as well.  Floyd loved being with his family and friends and having a good time.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Floyd's memory include his three sons, Floyd Lee Sheridan, Jr and wife, Debra and Chris Sheridan and wife, Bobby Gayle, all of Kinder and John Wesley Sheridan of Iowa; two daughters, Amanda Bertrand of Fenton and Melissa Sheridan of Iowa; 16 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Wesley and Jessie Mae Sheridan; his wife, Betty Ann Guillory Sheridan; one daughter, Gaynell Marcantel; one brother, Will Sheridan; and three sisters, Rachael Pearce, Rosella Chapman, and Dorothy Fuselier; and one daughter-in-law, Lorita Gail Sheridan.
