Indian Village-Funeral service for Floyd L. "Tiny" Savant, age 81, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Indian Village Pentecostal Church. Rev. Terry Bushnell will officiate. Burial will follow in Indian Village Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors at Indian Village Pentecostal Church on Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 1 p.m. until time of service.
Floyd, affectionately known as "Tiny", was a resident of Houston, Texas. He served with the U.S. Merchant Marines for two years followed by two years of service with the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict. He was retired as a long shoreman. Floyd enjoyed life and was a hard-working man. He was always happy. He enjoyed squirrel hunting, especially the annual "Opening Day Savant Squirrel Hunt." Floyd will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Floyd's memory include his wife, Mary Zellner Savant, of Houston; one son, Mike Zellner, of Houston; two daughters, Brenda Bussell and Cindy Johnson, both of Houston; four brothers, Carlton Savant and wife, Helen, Wade Savant and wife, Becky, Tyrone Savant and wife, June, and Charles Savant and wife, Patty, all of Kinder; one sister, Gail Wofford of Kinder; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Viola Savant; and one brother, Gene Savant.
