Elton-Funeral Services for Fernest Reed III, 72, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton. Rev. Lloyd Bassoo will officiate. Burial will follow in Reed Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 from 3-9 p.m. at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Fernest was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Evelyn. He enjoyed listening to Cajun and Gospel music. Fernest loved working outside, fishing, helping people in need, barbequing, making gumbo and reading his Bible. He was a man of strong faith and cherished his relationship with God. Fernest will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Fernest's memory include his wife, Evelyn Geraldine Reed of Elton; two brothers, John Durio and wife, Margaret, of Vinton and Neville Reed and wife, Ellen, of Deweyville, TX; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Fernest is preceded in death by his parents, Fernest Reed and Della Boone; four brothers, Joe Durio, Francis Durio, Claude Durio and Robert Barnes; and two sisters, Leola Durio and Mary Mae Fontenot.

Pallbearers honored to serve are-Craig Durio, Spencer Bihm, Devin Sylestine, Joshua Sylestine, Jeremy Sylestine and Calvin Sylestine.
