Oakdale-Funeral services for Faron Brent Fontenot, 64, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Hardy Estes will officiate. Burial will follow at Glenmora Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 6 p.m. by Deacon Dale Deshotel. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Faron Brent Fontenot, affectionately known as "Pa'Pa'", was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was a gentle giant and was always willing to help anyone he could. The thing he loved the most was spending time with his kids and grandkids. He worked at Oakdale Drug for the past twenty-four years with his second family. He had a nickname for everyone he knew. Faron was a man that you could call for anything and he would be there within minutes to help in any way he could. There wasn't any job or favor that he considered too big. His laugh and smile were contagious and his heart was huge and full of love. Faron was always up for an adventure-a ride, fishing trip, a squirrel hunt or just a trip to get ice cream or Starbucks. To know him was to love him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Faron's memory include his wife, Rhonda Melder Fontenot; two sons, Faron Wade Fontenot and wife, Farran, and Josh Laird and husband, Danny; four daughters, Aaron LaRae Soderberg Spears, Whitney Elizabeth Soderberg, Danielle Cahilog and husband, Herny and Tara Laird Kepple; sister, Lynda Fontenot Armond and husband, Richard "Frenchie"; sister-in-law, Prescilla Joyce Fontenot; and twelve grandchildren, Gavin Spears, Sydnie Friday, Blayke "Biggie" Carpenter, Brody, Brock and Braxton Fontenot, Thomas, Connor, Mathis Kepple, Miguel and Jaylee Cahilog and Caleb Beason-Laird.

Faron is preceded in death by his parents, Effon Fontenot and Eliza Berza Fontenot; and brother, Joseph Wayne Fontenot.
