Oakdale-Celebration of Life services honoring Faith Harper Brooks, "Nonnie," 81, will be held at 10 o'clock a.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Tom Leggett will officiate. Faith will be laid to rest at Oakdale Cemetery immediately following her services.

Faith's family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale on Wednesday evening, January 31, 2024, from 4-9 o'clock p.m. Faith's visitation will resume on Thursday morning, February 1, 2024, from 8 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Faith's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Faith graduated from Oakdale High School in 1960. She was an avid basketball player and member of the booster club. In 1961, she married the love of her life, Robert L. Brooks and together they shared 4 children. After working various jobs, including working in the salt mines near New Iberia, Louisiana, in 1985 she decided to return to school and become a Registered Nurse. After many years of working at the Savoy Medical Center in Mamou, Louisiana, she retired and stayed home to spend time enjoying her family and home. Faith enjoyed working in her yard, collecting dolls, collecting "Santas", and spending time with her family. After a brief illness, Faith passed away quietly in her home, surrounded by her children.

Those left to cherish Faith's memory include three sons, Robert "Bobby" Brooks (Julie), Richard "Richy" Brooks (Amy), and Kenneth "Kenny" Brooks (Jan); one daughter, Karen Lilly (Chester); three brothers, Tim, Sam, and Tommy Harper; one sister, Judy Hayes; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Faith is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Ruth Olive Harper; her husband, Robert L. Brooks; and one brother, Herman E. Harper.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Chris Tyler, Casey Brooks, Ross Harris, Lee Doyal, Chester Lilly, Reed Brooks, and Joe Karam.
