Obituary

Oberlin-Funeral Services for Evelyn Marie Gradney, 67, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin. Father Jerish George will officiate. Burial will follow at Soileau Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until time of service. **Please note that the gathering capacity will be limited to 10 people, as per state compliance and the service will be by invitation only.**

Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Gus, for 46 years. She was a woman of strong faith and a lifelong member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Evelyn loved watching t.v., sewing, watching her grandchildren and riding in the car. She always wanted to go somewhere. Evelyn also enjoyed cooking; she made the best beef rice and gravy and gumbo. She loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Evelyn's memory include her mother, Eula Janice; husband, Gusex "Gus" Gradney; one daughter, Schelita Gradney of Lake Charles; one sister, Mary Frank and husband, Donald, of Mamou; four grandchildren, Dominique and husband, Trevion, Morgan, Cameron and Kennedi Gradney; as well as, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her father, Welton St. Andrew.
