Fenton-And God smiled and said come home. Eurick "Mr. Yoke" Richard 93, of Fenton, La. passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2006 in Kinder. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2006 in St Charles Barromeo Catholic Church of Fenton. Father Augustine Mulanjanany will officiate. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.

Mr. Richard was a retired school bus driver and janitor for Fenton High School. A avid gardener whose love for gardening produced prize-winning vegetables that he loved to share with his grandchildren. "Mr. Yoke" as everyone loved to call him was a favorite amongst all the children who rode his bus.

His survivors include his wife of 52 years, Ezora F. Richard of Fenton; daughter, Mary Nell & Luther Miller of Fenton; sons Lionel & Emma Richard of Shreveport, Larry & Sharon Richard of Lake Charles, step sons Pete and Pat Martin, Joseph Martin Both of Lake Charles; eight grandchildren, Lydia Bertrand, Theresa and Montie Landry, Tina Miller, Johnny, Brian, Chad, Dion Richard. Six step grandchildren, Kammy, Garrick, Allison, Greg, T.J., and Paige Martin, Twelve great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; many nieces and Nephews; brothers, Leo Richard of Church Point, A.B. Richard of Eunice; sisters, Odell Cormier of Lafayette, Ruby Daigle, Bessie Douget both of Church Point, Lelia Thibodeaux and Amy Doucet both of Eunice.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Lydia Opry Richard; infant son, Howard Richard; mother, Armenia and stepfather Alfred Pete; father, Constant "Brisk" Richard; sister, Alice Menard; Infant great grandson, Robert Lee Junior Landry, one stepson Murray Martin.

Visitation will be in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder Monday, from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
