Obituary

Kinder-It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Euna Langley Fontenot, age 86, announce her passing on February 17, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Rev. Keith Pellerin and Rev. Tony Fontenot officiated. Burial followed in Carter Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family received visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 4-9 p.m. A Vigil Service was held at 6 p.m. followed by the Holy Rosary. Visitation resumed at the funeral home on Friday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Euna was a loving wife of 64 years to her husband, "Chick", prior to his passing away in 2011. She was also a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and as a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Ladies Altar Society. Euna loved her family and loved to cook when she was able. She also enjoyed having coffee with her relatives. She was "meek and mild" and always "went with the flow." She was also known for her strong will and was a woman of strong faith. She loved sewing and made everything. Euna has touched the hearts of many over the years. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Euna's memory include her three sons, James Fontenot and fiancée, Diane, of Dayton, TX, Robert Fontenot and wife, Jeanne, of Lake Charles, and Grady Fontenot and wife, Tracie, of Kinder; two daughters, Alice Reno of Bonham, TX, and Elizabeth Brotherton of Colorado Springs, CO; one brother, Harold Langley, Sr. and wife, Mamie, of Kinder; one sister, Lorena Fontenot of Kinder; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Euna is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ray "Chick" Fontenot; her parents, Columbus and Alice Langley; two brothers, Hiram and Elmer Langley; and two sisters, Ola Mae Deshotel and Leora Miller.
