Kinder- Eual Mae Tessier Brown passed away peacefully Monday, June 16, 2008. She was born in Opelousas, LA November 27, 1925. Eula Mae was the celebrated wife of Famed news anchorman Bill Brown of NBC News. Her Grandfather, Charles Robert Tessier deVille au Champ was one of the first judges of Baton Rouge. The house where she grew up still stands at Lafayette Street in Baton Rouge. Eula Mae Married Bill Brown, a cousin to President John F. Kennedy; from Boston CT, and they traveled the world extensively while Mr. Brown was a foreign correspondent and reporter for NBC News. Their many years living in Europe and traveling the world, developed Eula Mae's interest in art and design. She was also a talented clothing designer and seamstress and excelled in interior design. They settled for awhile in Beverly Hills, CA, and it was there that Eula Mae had a successful interior design business and was also a hair and make up model. Later they moved to Riverside, CA where Eula Mae raised horses along with her children Pat & Brooke. Pat & Brooke were both accomplished equestrians. After they retired, Eula Mae and Bill decided to settle in Kinder, LA, as she longed to be close to where she was born and raised. Eula Mae will be missed by her grandchildren, Shawn, Kiki, Nina, Jennifer and Katie; and her four great-grandchildren. Her son, Patrick Gerald Brown, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be held Friday, June 20, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Father Carlos Garcia will officiate. Burial will follow in Carter Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5pm-8pm with a rosary at 6:30pm. and will continue Friday at 8am until time of service.
