Kinder- Funeral services for Mr. Eugene S. Taylor, 82, will be held at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder, at 11 AM Friday, March 7, 2008. Burial will be in Dry Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Thursday from 1 to 9 PM and will continue on Friday at 8 AM till time of service.
Mr. Taylor was a resident of Reeves. He passed away on Friday, February 29, 2008 in the Allen Parish Hospital.
Mr. Taylor was born in Saline, La. and attended school in Campti, La. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on April 25, 1943 where he served as a submarine serviceman on the U.S.S. Greyback throughout the war. After his four years of service he reenlisted in the U.S. Air Force at Barksdale Air Force Base on June 27, 1947. He served his career in the Air Force until retiring on December 1, 1970. At this time Mr. Taylor continued to serve his country through the reserves until October 28, 1974. He was a veteran of WW II, The Korean War, and Vietnam. Two years prior to his final retirement in the service, Mr. Taylor and his wife ran the Methodist Youth Camp in LeBlanc. He was a Scout Leader with the Boy Scouts of America. He was the owner of Taylor's Country Grocery of Reeves since 1974. Mr. Taylor will always be remembered for his dedication to his country, his strong work ethic and his love of family and friends.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Patricia "Pat" L. Taylor. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Mayes and Betty Sue Miley. He is survived by his five sons; Danny Taylor of Oberlin, Samuel Taylor of Phoenix, AZ, Tim Taylor and wife Charlotte of Reeves, Paul Taylor of Reeves, and Pat Taylor and wife Skye of Iowa; 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde Taylor and wife JoBeth of Reeves, and Roy Taylor and wife Bernell of Kinder; and one sister, Martha Woods and husband Billy of Shreveport, La. and brother in law Wally Erwin of Gig Harbor, WA.
