Kinder- Funeral service for Mrs. Ethel Lormand Newman, 86, will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at 10a.m. in Kinder Bible Church. Rev. Robert Jones will officiate. Graveside service will be at 4p.m. in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Baton Rouge under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be held Monday from 3pm-9pm in the funeral home and will continue Tuesday at 8am in the church until time of service.
Mrs. Newman was a native of Kinder, a resident of Beaumont, TX, a family historian, and a member of Les Acadians Du Texas. She loved traveling, gardening and antiquing. Mrs. Newman passed away Friday, May 4, 2007 in a Baton Rouge Hospital.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years James L. Newman of Beaumont, TX; two daughters, Melanie Pitre & husband Holland of Houma & Kathy Newman of Baton Rouge;son-in-law, Richard Stewart of Angleton, TX; three grandchildren, Gannon Pitre, Laura Eckert, Cody Stewart; 2 great grandchildren, Kaden & Brandt.
Preceded in death by daughter, Judy Stewart.
