Reeves-A celebration of the life of Ethel Mae Green, 88, will be held at 2pm on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Camp Pearl in the Ethel Green Chapel. Rev. Don Barrett and the Clergy of Camp Pearl Ministries will officiate the service and burial will follow in Creel Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be held at Camp Pearl-Ethel Green Chapel from 1pm-6pm on Saturday, June 1, 2013 and will resume on Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 12noon until time of service. A gathering will also be held at the Ethel Green Chapel following Ethel's burial.
Ethel is a 1941 graduate of Reeves High School. She was bestowed the honor of Valedictorian of her graduating class. She attended Moody Bible College of Chicago, Illinois. After college, she dedicated her life to Camp Pearl Ministries. Ethel Green Chapel at Camp Pearl was built and dedicated to Ethel in honor of her service. Besides her life's dedication to Camp Pearl, Ethel served as secretary of Reeves Bible Church for several years, taught Sunday school and was part of the music ministry, as well. She was a very talented musician having taught piano for many years. Ethel's love of Christ was shown in the way she lived her life. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include one sister, Marie Marcantel and husband, John of Reeves; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ethel is preceded in death by her parents-Nancy and Lee Green; three brothers-Steven, John and Philip Earl Green; two sisters-Thelma Green Wilson and Anita Green Mitchell.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ethel Green Chapel or in Ethel's memory to Creel Memorial Gardens.
