Ethel Marie Fontenot Sacker was born on August 2, 1925, in Kinder, Louisiana, to parents, Clodies Fontenot and Barbara Ellen Gordon. She attended elementary through high school in Kinder. In 1954, she married Anthony Sacker and together they had three sons.  Ethel was Pentecostal from her early childhood. She received the Holy Ghost in 1975 in the same revival at Brother Clarke's church where her sons, David and John, also received the Holy Ghost. She served in the USO Nurse Corp beginning on August 18, 1944 at the age of 19.  Ethel went on to have a successful career as an anesthesia nurse working into her late 70's.  Her hobbies included painting, crafts, decoupage, needle point, and genealogy.  She was very proud of her research with the Allen Parish Genealogy Society and she was responsible for completing the family histories of several family names.  Ethel was a loving, Christian woman and was a giver all of her life.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Ethel's memory include her three sons, David Sacker and wife, Viktoria, Paul Sacker, and John Sacker and wife, Niki; and her three grandchildren, Jon David Sacker and wife, Sallie, Kiersten Whitten, and Jordyn Mayfield.

Ethel is preceded in death by her father, Clodies Fontenot and his wife, Eve Landry; mother, Barbara Ellen Gordon (whom everyone called "Mama") and her husband, Fred Rostrom; the father of her three sons, Anthony Clarence Howth Sacker; older sister, Relia Sliman; oldest brother, Winfred Fontenot; half-sister, Evelyn Fontenot; and her younger sister, Margie Woodcock.
