All of Eric’s arrangements have been entrusted to care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin.
Eric graduated from Oberlin High School in 1990 where he was active in band, playing the trumpet, that he wholeheartedly enjoyed. Music was his passion from an early age. As a child he began playing the organ at home, gifted by his parents, and that’s where his love of music began. Eric was active in the church from a young age where he grew spiritly and musically. He played the organ at church and was honored to play for weddings, funerals, and in his community. Many evenings he would play the organ at home for his family and friends.
Eric had a green thumb like his mother. He would spend countless hours taking care of his garden and watching it grow.
Eric was the organist at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oakdale, but he was also employed by the Catholic Diocese of Lake Charles where he played many roles. Through his work he made many friends including Brad Soileau who he played music with frequently and Dr Tommy Davis. Eric will be greatly missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.
Eric leaves behind many who will cherish his memory, including his mother, Thelma Marie Berlinger of Oberlin; two brothers, Bryan and Jennifer Young, and Tim and Tonya Young both of Oberlin; two sisters, Bernadine and Lynn Dean Vizena, and Angie Bertrand both of Oberlin. Eric is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
Eric was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Wade Young.
Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be shared with Eric’s family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com or on Facebook-Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
