Emma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Elmer Ray "T-Boy" Miles, for sixty years until his passing in September of 2015. She was a faithful member of The Family Place Church for the past fifty-four years. Emma enjoyed helping wherever needed, especially in the kitchen and behind the scenes. She thoroughly cherished spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent biological mother to four children of her own; but really a mother to so many more, including numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Emma was a hard-worker who gave very freely of her time and love. After not completing high school and getting married in 1956, Emma was determined to obtain her high school diploma and did so at Reeves High School in 1986. After receiving her diploma, Emma went on to attend beauty school at National Beauty College in Lake Charles and became a beautician, then went on to be an instructor. She was a very loving, caring, giving and God-fearing woman. Emma will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Emma's memory include two daughters, Emma Young and husband, Jimmy, of Reeves and Amanda LeDoux and husband, Dominic, of Atascocita TX; one son, William Miles and wife, Enung, of Reeves; two sisters, Winona Oles of Ohio and Patricia Nichols of Texas; two brothers, Joel Lee Kendrick and wife, Winnie, of Moss Bluff and Robert Kendrick and wife, Lavonne, of Shreveport; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Emma is preceded in death by her parents, Joel and Velma Kendrick; husband, Elmer Ray "T-Boy" Miles; two sons, Ray and Lenord Miles; two sisters, Helen Griffith and Carrie King; and one brother, Walter Kendrick.
