Dry Creek-Emily L. Sanders, 79, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at her home in Dry Creek surrounded by her family. Her funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, May 11, 2012 in the Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel of Kinder. Rev. Don Barrett will officiate. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery of Dry Creek under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors beginning on Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 3-10pm at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder and will continue on Friday, May 11th from 8am until time of service.
Emily traveled extensively with her first husband, Gerald, who was in the military. She worked hard to provide for her family over the years. She retired from Sears, Roebuck and Co. with over thirty years experience. She also enjoyed sewing and gardening. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, John M. Laughlin of Dry Creek; one son, Robert Sanders and wife, Debbi of Dry Creek; one daughter, Evelyn Dodd and husband, James of Lake Charles; two brothers, Harold Raby and Fred Raby, both of Fresno, CA; one sister, Willa Nichols of Keene, NH; four grandchildren: Michael, Jamie, Emily, and Jason; and, five great grandchildren: Morgan, Zoe, Kyliee, Xander, and Genavyve.
Emily is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and George Raby; her first husband, Gerald Sanders; four brothers: George, Jim, Chester and Leon; and one sister, Marie.
