Kinder- Funeral services for Emery L. Tupper, 75, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 15, 2016 in the chapel of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. Paul Cavenah will officiate. Burial will follow in Indian Village Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder on Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 1-9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Emery was a devoted husband to his wife, Juanita, for 53 years. He was also a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved family life, especially spending time with his grandchildren. He gave all of his grandchildren nicknames and always slipped them money and said "don't tell Maw Maw". Emery loved working in his garden and taking care of his roses. He loved Blue Bell ice cream and Slim Jims. He raised farm animals and made his own sausage and beef jerky. Emery was retired from Gifford Hill and Co. (26 years), Trinity Material (7 years), and the Lafarge Co. (7 years) with a total of forty years of service. He was a great man and he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Emery's memory include his loving wife, Juanita Tupper of Kinder; two daughters, Christina Marie Smith and husband, Richard, and Tammy Rachelle Tupper, all of Kinder; three sisters, Grace Esters and husband, Glen, Jane Stephens and husband, George, and Helen Faye Abshire and husband, Newton, all of Elton; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
Emery is preceded in death by his parents, William and Pearl Tupper; one brother, Jimmy Tupper; and one granddaughter, Stephanie Smith.
