Oberlin- Funeral service for Mr. Emery Guillory, 78, will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Oberlin. Deacon Norris Chapman will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in the Oberlin Mausoleum under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be held in New Beginnings Assembly of God Church in Oberlin Monday from 5pm-10pm with a scripture service at 6:30pm and a rosary will follow. Visitation will continue Tuesday at 8am until time of service.
Mr. Guillory was a resident of Oberlin, was employed with the Soil & Water Conservation Service for 54 years, a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church where he served as an usher for 30 years, veteran of the US Army, member of the VFW, and former post commander with the American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with family, attending automobile auctions, hunting, and Tuesday night suppers with friends. Mr. Guillory passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Joan Guillory of Oberlin; three sons, Keith Guillory of Oberlin, Nicholas Guillory & wife Connie of Lake Charles, Joseph Guillory of Oberlin; one brother, Joseph R. Guillory of Ville Platte.
Preceded in death by his parents, Leo & Rhea Guillory.
