Oberlin-Celebration of Life Services honoring Elvin Berry, 87, will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11 o'clock a.m. at Progressive Church of God in Christ in Oberlin. Rev. Dallas Thomas will officiate. Elvin will be laid to rest at St. John Cemetery in Kinder immediately following his services.
Elvin's family will receive visitors at Progressive Church of God in Christ in Oberlin on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 9 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin.
Elvin was a lifelong resident of Oberlin and a member of the Progressive Church of God in Christ. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. Elvin enjoyed cook outs and spending time with his family and friends. He loved trail rides with his friends and loved to have a good time. Elvin will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish Elvin's memory include his wife, Mary Berry of Oberlin; two sons, Tim Berry and wife "Annie" of Richmond, TX, and Arnold Berry of Oberlin; one sister, Belma Jean Berry of Iowa, LA; three grandchildren, Mariah Berry, Kortney Jack, and Donovan Berry; and four great-grandchildren Eliyanah, Eilam, Brielle and Cali.
Elvin is preceded in death by his parents, Thompson, and Lelia Berry; four brothers, Thompson Jr., Joseph, Bradley, and McCarthy Berry; and two sisters, Dorothy and Shirley Berry.
Pallbearers honored to serve are Patrick Skinner, Ervin and Victor Guillory, Joseph Martin, J.C. McMahon and Zachary Simon.
