Edward was born on January 5, 1947, to the union of Thomas Edison Viscardis and Gretchen Wanda Pace Viscardis. He passed away in the peace of his home with his loving family by his side on Thursday, May 28, 2025. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Edward was a devoted husband for 32 years to his wife, Mary Anne, until her passing. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for three years, with two of those years spent in Germany. He was a hardworking man and never missed a day of work, no matter how sick he was. He worked for a time as a mobile mechanic at Van Ply before joining the papermill in Elizabeth, where he worked until it closed. He then spent 32 years as a mechanic at Fort Polk in a rebuild shop until his retirement. Edward loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting with his neighbor, Bruce, and fishing on the lake with his son, Thomas. He cherished time with his family, particularly his grandchildren and his beloved dog, Peanut. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish Edward's memory include his son, Thomas Viscardis, and wife, Crystal; his daughter, Sharon Kay Schultz; eight grandchildren, Le'Anne, Will, Cody, Brooke, Kadyn, Devin, Austin, and Dylan, thirteen great-grandchildren, BreAnna, Zachary, Jaylee, Alyssa, Rylan, Easton, Tyler, Riley, Baylee, Baylor, Elysia, Ryker, and Lanora; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Gretchen (Wanda) Viscardis; his wife, Mary Ann Warton Viscardis; his son James Viscardis; his brother, Bobby Viscardis; his sister, Letaine Bowlin; his grandson, James Viscardis Jr.; and his great-granddaughter, Destiny Nicole Richmond.
