Kinder-Funeral service for Edolia Marie Fontenot Van Buskirk, 78, will be held Friday, August 5, 2011 at 10am in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church of Kinder. Father Marshall Boulet will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 4, 2011 in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder from 5-8pm with a rosary being recited at 6:30pm. Visitation will continue Friday from 8am until time of service.
Edolia was a resident of Kinder. She loved working in her flowerbeds and tending to her beautiful flowers. She was a very spiritual and prayerful woman. She was known for never forgetting her loved ones on their birthdays. She always gave glory to God and saw his beauty in everything-good or bad.
She is survived by one brother, Joseph "Chick" Fontenot and wife, Euna of Kinder; two sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews from around the United States who will miss her dearly.
Edolia is preceded in death by her husband, David Van Buskirk, her parents, Lucien and Alice Duhon Fontenot, two sisters, Ezora Richard and Isabelle Buller; and six brothers, Wilfred, Frank, Erman, Murphy, John, and Attlie Fontenot.
